My journey to and with AI
From skeptic to hands-on user
For a long time, AI wasn’t really a topic for me. Little interest, many reservations – more skeptical than enthusiastic, shaped by plenty of poor or superficial opinions.
My impression was: interesting for techies, but nothing for me. Until three experiences changed everything.
The first aha moments
Three experiences changed everything
Suddenly AI was no longer theory, but a practical partner.
The Ground Instructor Training
Structuring and building a presentation from the ground up – accompanied by an AI model that thought along instead of just delivering text.
Odoo for Paraguay
A module following the OCA guidelines – in about ten minutes. What others had worked on for a long time was suddenly within reach.
The Family Project
A website for my son’s work in the context of savetec.com.py. A private occasion turned into a real practical test.
The turning point
Odoo: the self-experiment
An IT student at a university had previously tried in vain to implement an Odoo customization for Paraguay.
My attempt with an AI model: within about ten minutes, an Odoo module took shape following the OCA guidelines.
“For me, that was the moment: this technology can solve very concrete problems.”
Afterwards
I really wanted to understand it
Skepticism turned into genuine fascination.
Intensive study of tools and large language models – countless videos and hands-on self-experiments.
A MacBook Air M5 with 16 GB RAM for local AI – to understand what is possible directly on your own device.
Curiosity about open source, data protection and AI agents – and about where the sensible boundaries lie.
Personal boundaries
What I don’t hand over to AI
Not everything that is technically possible should also be delegated to AI.
- Personal relationships and private data
- Religion
- Politics
The decisive question
How does AI become usable for everyone?
How can the ordinary person around the corner put AI, and especially AI agents, to work quickly and efficiently?
- Without technical installation?
- Without headaches and lengthy study?
- Without needlessly endangering your own data?
- Compatible with European requirements such as the EU AI Act?
